I Came Back For This

We are back from our 2 week trip to Mazatlan, Mexico, where it was a very nice, warm 81 degrees, with a nice sea breeze. Played in the pool, took a lot of sun, read four novels, and ate really good food. I was also surprised to find my golf swing again. I didn't hit everyone perfectly, but enough to be happy.
So we get back and run smack into 50 degree weather, 50 MPH winds, snow on the foot hills, and hail. Why oh why did I come back?
One of our guest had a Kindle, the e-book reader from Amazon.com, well, after schlepping four novels around, I decided to get one. It is on the way. Why carry 5 pounds of books when I can carry 1500 books in 10.5 ounces?
It has been good to be home only to see our pets and we are going to see family, including the newest baby Sienna, who will be blessed at church by her father. We will also drop down to Kennewick to see DeAnne and family after the blessing.
Big travel year for us. I am heading back East to visit family and do some fishing. Good luck with that. In August we go off to Alaska for 14 days and then in November we are to go to Hawaii for two weeks, with one week on the Big Island, and one week on Kauai.

Post Surgery

Well, I am finished with both eyes and can see clearly again. I mean really clearly. I am amazed at the clarity of vision I now have. I still have about a week of drops to do in the left eye, which was the last eye completed. I can now see in bright lights both during the day and at night. I am glad I had it done.

If you have or get cataracts, the docs will tell you they have to go for a spell before they want to remove them. All I can say is if you have trouble seeing in bright lights during the day or night, maybe they should come out. Let me explain what I mean. During the day, sunshine, or lights from store lights would enter my eyes and I think because of the cataracts, the light would be scattered across the eyes in an unnatural way making seeing difficult. I went over the crest of a hill one day prior to surgery, sunlight hit me in the eyes, and it was like a blinding whiteout, more so than you would normally get. I would often duck my head to shield my eyes from the light or pull my hat down when I was in a store. So, there you have it.

Eyes

Well, I went to the eye doc this week and it looks like I will be having double cataract surgery in the near future. I am now waiting to hear from my health insurance company that will authorize the procedures. Each eye will be done about a month apart. Looking forward to seeing you clearly.

Ah A New Year

My intentions were to be asleep by 11:00. I was in bed, but our neighbors decided to blow some fire crackers off. Eli, our dog does not like fire crackers and was barking. I got him to come up on the bed, which doesn't take much, to get some comfort. He came up, stopped barking, but just about lied on top of me. A 50 pound comforter is a little are to sleep under. Needless to say, I made it into the new year. Yahoo.
Looks like I will be going into the eye docs on the 6TH to see about the cataracts and see if and when surgery will be done. It would be nice to say, "I can see clearly now."
Hope all had a great Christmas and my the new year be good to you.
